Catch the tail of the sunny season over a long Labor Day Weekend with Captain Planet and Jeremy Sole taking over the iconic SWIMS poolside party both Saturday, August 31, and Sunday, September 1.
Jeremy Sole has spent over 30 years collecting vinyl from around the world, creating DJ sets that blend global sounds into a unique sonic experience for the "genre non-conforming." He has shared the stage and studio with legends like Stevie Wonder, Roy Ayers, Chaka Khan, and Michael Kiwanuka, and was the last DJ to open for both Ray Charles and Gil Scott-Heron. Sole's work has been recognized by Gilles Peterson, who named him "#2 DJ of the Year" in 2011 and "Radio Show of the Year" in 2014.
As a longtime host on KCRW, Sole has helped break many now-major artists, such as Black Pumas, Hiatus Kaiyote, and Alabama Shakes. His show, in its 17th year, continues to be a soulful mixtape love letter to the world. He also curates Le Frique Sonique, a monthly event at the Moroccan Lounge, featuring world-renowned DJs and musicians.
Sole's remix work includes tracks for Femi Kuti, Quantic, Beck, David Bowie, and Thievery Corporation, showcasing his ability to transcend style and genre in music.
Captain Planet is a world-traveling DJ & music producer who blends global roots music styles with forward-thinking hip-hop, dancehall, and electronic beats. has produced world-recognized remixes for the likes of Little Dragon, Katy B, Alice Russell, Erykah Badu, Mayer Hawthorne and many more. His song “Un Poquito Más” featuring Chico Mann has earned over 2.5 million streams.
